Ah! Nostalgia, Minus the Thumb

He was small.
He loved pulling his socks up to his knees, and sucking his thumb.

He stood on the old wooden round table in his brothers t-shirt, climbing
the tallest tree in his head and pointing at people with his other hand.
He wished he had three hands, so that he wouldn't have to remove his
thumb from his mouth. Fumbling at intervals to pop another yellow gem
into his mouth and continue on his adventure. He didn't like girls,
so he hid his favourite pair of shoes from them.

Somewhere in there; behind the plain exterior and layers of
thought, caution and defense that now surround him.

Remains a child searching for a taller tree.

self-portrait? No tree required...you are that tall tree...firmly rooted in the ground.
